Farther's Day Portraits

Farther's Day has been super busy for me. I have completed two pet portraits for this special day as well as being on holiday just a few days before hand. It's been a rush but it has definitely been worth it to see happy and satisfied customers. One of the orders I had is definitely made it into my favorite pieces to date.

I feel like I don't show enough of how a painting starts off. So above it just one of the portraits I completed for farther's day. This consisted of 5 different dogs on a box canvas, size 100cm x 30 cm. It was a big portrait to do but didn't take me as long as I thought. So to hide of the pencil marks I created while drawing the dogs I used a thick white acrylic paint and added 2 layers to ensure they were completely covered. I always use Daler Rowney Acrylic Paint for all my acrylic paintings. Below is the completed canvas. I am so please with how it has come out, each dog is so different. To top it off the person who ordered the canvas has given me a 5 star rating on Facebook and was very please with the portrait.

If you are inspired by this and have lots of animals to be featured in one canvas or similar then please email me or Facebook me to get quotes, the different sizes I offer and the style you can go for! This is my second portrait like this one, the first I did was of three cats which I gifted for Christmas 2016. I couldn't think of a more personal gift to give to someone who loves their pets.

My pet portraits start at £15 and come in a range of different ways. Please look for the section on Pet Portraits to see the full range their. Unfortunately the portrait that I have written about isn't on there as this needs a personal quote.

About Me

Clair Isaac

My name is Clair Isaac and I am 20 years old. I have been painting animals since 2013 but only set up a part time business in 2016. I love animals and love painting so being able to combine the two is amazing! I live in rural Mid Wales with my Parents and my brother where I lived all my life. I have one dog who is a all white sheepdog with a tiny bit of black on her who is a family pet and has been for 13 years. I also have a gorgeous cat who is a Tortoiseshell Cat who I have had for 4 years.

I started painting dogs first during my A Levels and drawing sheep later on, this is where my love for drawing and painting animals came from. Since completing my A Levels I then went to complete a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design where I tried lots of new styles and techniques but still wanted to draw and paint animals, this is where I discovered I wanted to take this love further so I created my Facebook page while still in college and then later on in 2016 created a small website. My ultimate dream is to be able to do this full time and be able to live off my art and be my own boss. I take commissions for pet portraits in a range of products as well as creating my own paintings of farm animals and wildlife.

♥ Thank You for reading and I hope you enjoy looking through my work. ♥
